TWINDOM Counseling’s mission is to provide compassionate, accessible, and individualized mental health care for children, adolescents, adults, and families. We help clients understand difficult emotions, develop practical coping skills, strengthen relationships, and move toward meaningful change through play therapy, counseling, parent support, and evidence-based care.

We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment where every client feels seen, heard, and supported. Through in-person services in Albertville and telehealth across Alabama and Georgia, TWINDOM strives to make quality counseling more accessible while honoring each person’s strengths, experiences, and goals.

Method

TWINDOM Counseling uses individualized, trauma-informed, and developmentally appropriate approaches to support children, adolescents, adults, and families. Depending on each client’s needs, treatment may include play therapy, person-centered counseling, cognitive and behavioral strategies, emotional-regulation skills, parent consultation, and collaborative treatment planning.

Our therapists focus on building trust, identifying strengths, understanding patterns, and developing practical skills that support meaningful progress. Services are tailored to each client’s age, concerns, goals, culture, and preferred way of engaging in therapy.

Credentials

Therapy

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and clinical supervisor with more than 20 years of counseling experience. I am licensed as a Professional Counselor in Alabama and Georgia, recognized as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Alabama, and credentialed as a Registered Play Therapist. My work has included children, adolescents, adults, families, and other mental health professionals seeking clinical supervision.

Psychology

I hold advanced graduate degrees in community agency counseling, including an Education Specialist degree. Throughout my career, I have worked across diverse behavioral health settings, including outpatient therapy, family services, substance use treatment, geriatric counseling, crisis intervention, correctional mental health, and services for at-risk adolescents. This breadth of experience informs my understanding of the complex emotional, behavioral, developmental, and relational concerns clients may bring to counseling.

Expertise

My areas of professional expertise include trauma-informed counseling, play therapy, clinical supervision, treatment planning, crisis intervention, behavioral health care, and counseling across the lifespan. As a Registered Play Therapist, I incorporate developmentally appropriate therapeutic approaches that allow children to communicate, process emotions, develop coping skills, and work toward meaningful change through the natural language of play.

Approach

I believe effective therapy begins with a relationship in which clients feel safe, seen, heard, and respected. My approach is individualized, trauma-informed, and developmentally appropriate, drawing from person-centered counseling, play therapy, cognitive and behavioral strategies, emotional-regulation skills, parent consultation, and collaborative treatment planning according to each client's needs. I focus on identifying strengths, understanding patterns, developing practical coping skills, and helping clients create meaningful and sustainable change.

Affiliations

My professional standing includes licensure as a Professional Counselor in both Alabama and Georgia, designation as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Alabama, and the Registered Play Therapist credential. These professional credentials require continued attention to ethical practice, professional standards, clinical competency, and ongoing development within the counseling profession.

Achievements

I am the founder, owner, managing member, and Clinical Director of TWINDOM Counseling Services, established in 2020. Over more than two decades in the counseling profession, I have served individuals and families across a wide range of clinical settings while also supporting the development of other counselors through clinical supervision. I am especially proud of building TWINDOM around a commitment to compassionate, accessible, individualized mental health care where children, adolescents, adults, and families can feel safe, understood, and supported.
